Nothing wrong to have a good humor, it seems that people go back to their childhood when they want to be in that mood of good humor, maybe as they grew up & became more serious they degraded that pleasant good sense of humor, thinking its below their level, they got more involved in trying to build their ego & prestige, therefore now when they seek those good moments of pleasant good humor they feel the need to return back to the childish days

On the second night of Pesach in shul this guy asked his neighbor to be motze him for sefiras haomer. "Be motze you?" said the neighbor, "why do you need anyone to be motze you? Its the first night of sefira tonight!". Ha replied the neighbor, now I need to be motze YOU!
