Does anyone know where i can get an mp3 daf yomi for free or pay that is fast and does a daf in 35 minutes or less?
I already know about chazaramp3 and thats way too fast for a first time.

January 31, 2014 12:08 am at 12:08 am #1001138LogicianParticipantThat’s a great solution, but it depends on the speaker. If they speak fast, but just take time to cover the material, it won’t work. If its someone who speaks a bit slower and therefore his shiur takes longer, that really works. I do that for many speakers who I think speak to slowly, yet I like their material.

DailyGemara.com has the option in the pop-out player.

No idea whether or not it will be too fast for you because I don’t do daf yomi, my current gemara seder averages 2 blatt a week. (If you want to see some confused looks refer to dappim as “blatt” in a hesder yeshiva)
January 31, 2014 12:40 am at 12:40 am #1001141MDGParticipantIf you download in mp3 format on a computer, windows media player has a speed setting. I sometimes use it. Going faster than 1.4 times becomes difficult to absorb. Also, some mp3’s don’t do so well when sped up.
Btw, the time it takes when sped up is the original time divided by the speed. For example, 60 minutes at 1.4 takes about 43 minutes. Another way to look at it is t0 take the reciprocal of the speed. For example 1.33 times faster will be 75 percent. A 48 minute shiur will take 36 minutes.

Then you have to deal with renting out a stadium twice every seven years. Once a shmitta is difficult enough.
