Recently my wife bought a 24-pack of 12oz Gatorade Performance 02 bottles (Strawberry, Berries and Grape) from Costco. The outside plastic covering the pack had the OU symbol. When I took the first bottle out I looked for the OU symbol and it had it. However the next bottle (of the same flavor) had a slightly different label and no OU. I removed all bottles from the pack and found that of the 8 Grape bottles in the pack, 4 did NOT have the OU symbol.

I am not sure if this is just a labeling error or some more serious issue. I am just posting this for th tzibbur to be watchful.

I contacted OU through their website. Let's see what they say.

    My non-kashrus-professional take on this:

A place like Costco could very well be selling a bulk pack of items from multiple productions. As the hechsher is still relatively new it could be some of the bottles were from a pre-hechsher run and are indeed NOT kosher. Check this by looking at the "use by date" - my guess is that the non-hechsher ones are quite a bit older than the hechsher ones. Kudos to you for noticing it!

    from kashrut.com:
GATORADE "FIERCE GRAPE" THIRST QUENCHER liquid drink now in stores is Kosher even if the label does not bear the OU. Newer labels do bear the OU. Please note that Gatorade Prime Pre-Game Fuel drink, Gatorade Recovery Post-Game beverage, and Gatorade powders are not certified.

I wonder what took so long for Fierce Grape to become Kosher, Grape was Kosher for quite a while before Fierce Grape.
