Your statement is totally a Chilul Hashem! I am especialy offended by your generalization since i am a lady who makes a respectable salary as a speech therapist and at 5′ 10″ im probably taller than you. I can’t believe that someone who calls himself Reb Yidd could ever say such an insulting thing, right before Rosh Hashana, you must ask mechila from every lady in the world.

Omggg you “ladies” are ridiculous. The average height for a white male in us is 5’10 and average height for a woman is 5’5 . I myself am a female and i stand at 5’4 it is safe to presume that MY future husband will be taller than me as biologically that would make sense. Hispanic men on avergae are shorter as are the women. If we can say that easily why do u find it demeaning to say that on average women are shorter. As it so happens he never said anything about women having less successful careers so your comment about being a speech therapist was completely random and irrelevant.
It has to do with European Christian customs, and part reflect their traditional perception of women as being mentally and physically deficient. Traditionally among our people a man would not show favor in public to a woman since that would be flirtatious.
bjjgirl1- I am very offended by your post! By showing offense at RebYidd’s post, you are implying that there is something wrong with being short! I am 5″2′ and proud! Additionally, I don’t think that a person’s worth should be measured by her income or by her profession.I take great offense at that as well!
I think that you should ask mechila from every short female as well as everyone who earns less money than you do as well as everyone who is not a speech therapist.
