I could understand if you delete a post but why the whole thread? even if you delete your post. Are you a person? I noticed this about you in the past even before i started to post.

    #1208416

As a mod you would probably think I know what you are referencing…. but I haven’t a clue. Guess I’m human after all.

Such ????… An all-knowing Mod saying he/she is human… WOW! That we have lived to this day…

(psst… tell me.. what am I thinking about now? What’s gonna happen tomorrow at 10:32.34?)

Who hijacked my account and posted this as if it were me? I also do not know what it is talking about.

I guess you can delete this thread if it were up to me.

    Sorry, I don’t delete threads – 29

How do you decide if you should type in bold on bottom of the post and or have your own post?

    #1208420

For me personally it depends on how small the edit button is on the screen I’m using, if I am commenting on a post or just answering something, and whether or not I want to be identified. But I can’t even promise you that is it because it’s more of an in-the-moment thing.

Here a big edit button for you

    {BIG EDIT BUTTON}

    Feel free to use it…

“Who hijacked my account and posted this as if it were me?”

Do other people use your computer? Perhaps you didn’t log off of YWN,

or perhaps your browser is saving your password.

And when you press edit, does it type in bold automatically or do you have to type <strong.>?

    #1208424

I have to type it, but I have hired someone to do it for me.

    #1208425

Seeing that this thread has my name on it, I’ll take that as an invitation to share my thoughts.

I have been trying to work on myself to reach out more to others and build connections to other yidden. In response to that initiative, I thought I would designate a set time per day where I would make an effort to comment on every post I mod, thereby reaching out to other yidden who are looking for connection.

So, what do you think about that?

    #1208426

If you mean explaining every deletion and edit, I’m all for it.

If you mean trying to respond to every post that passes through

your hands, I don’t think it would be such a good idea.

Mod 29 as a mod you have free reign; why would anyone object as long as you agree with whatever they are saying

So true. Agreeing with people certainly prevents objection. I was just hoping someone would get the joke.

It’s “free rein.” The term comes from letting go of

the reins of a horse, letting it go where it wants.

Are mods of the cr the same mods for the news articles?

I do know. Mods here in the past haven’t been shy about saying they only mod here and not on the main page. And that’s applicable to most mods, as can be seen contextually in various ways. The main page has fewer mods and the comments get updated far less frequently. The Ed, obviously, can mod here and there. Some of the old time mods, 72, 99, modded in both areas. Those two have long retired though.

    #1208443

I’ve mentioned in the past that I don’t think some of

what goes on in the news comments would fly in the CR.

They start out in the news sections as resident mods. After many years of intense internship, they advance and are promoted to this section. Why, I wonder if all of them in the other dept. know English…

Why are my posts on “linked usernames” not being approved?

    #1208446

I’m not sure…. maybe someone else will weigh in.

    #1208447

    What do they link to?

    and this post

    http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/mod-29#post-589294

has been yellow for 4 days.

    #1208451

No clue, maybe it was an error. But they also are not linked so not sure why you were posting them.

But they also are not linked so not sure why you were posting them. What are you referring to? The links that were in yellow? Surely a mod is able to see them, no?

    #1208453

You still haven’t explained your point.

    #1208455

Oh, I think I know what you meant…you were asking why I wanted them posted on the linked usernames! thread if they’re anyway not linked. So even though you’re one of the greatest mods around, you’re obviously not up-to-date on that thread, which recently took a sharp turn to discussing profiles with no activity listed on them.

What will that do? Once it’s approved, the earlier post will show up first.

    #1208465

Yes, but then the one before that will show up and may not be readily noticed, causing people to start reading backwards up the thread to make sure they didn’t miss anything.

29: how come some posts are highlighted in yellow until they are approved, and others just have the name highlighted?

If you are referring to two consecutive posts, it is because every other post is shaded and the yellowing of the shaded post looks like only the name is yellow.
