Jordanian Terrorist Attacks Police at Jerusalem’s Lion’s Gate on Shabbos

A 57-year-old Jordanian terrorist who crossed into Israel in the Beit Shean area earlier in the week made his way to Jerusalem and attacked on Shabbos.

Magen David Adom received calls for the terror attack near the Lion’s Gate to the Old City at about 1:15PM.

A 37-year-old policeman was stabbed and moderately injured in the attack. He was transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center with injuries to his neck and face, conscious and alert.

The terrorist was eliminated, pronounced dead on the scene by a police physician.

In an act of unmitigated chutzpah, Jordan on Saturday evening pointed a finger of blame at Israel for shooting dead a Jordanian citizen since the police officer was not seriously wounded, signaling the shooting of the terrorist was unjustified. The Jordanian Foreign Minister called the shooting of its citizen “An abominable crime”, not referencing how and why he was shot dead.

  1. It can be safely assumed that this Jordanian terrorist was furious with Israel having re-gotten Har haBayis & the Kossel by storming the Old City via Lion’s Gate 1/2 century ago from next week.
