Terrorist Dressed as a Member of the Press Stabs a Soldier in Hebron District [UPDATED 3:20PM IL]


he13:45: A soldier was stabbed and lightly wounded at HaZayit Junction in the Hebron district. The attack occurred on the Trans-Yehuda Highway.

The terrorist was shot dead. The soldier is being treated.

13:49: It is reported the terrorist was dressed as a new photographer to permit getting close enough to the soldier to stab him.

14:00: Arabs rioting in the area of the attack in which the soldier was stabbed.

14:03: Hatzalah Yosh updates, the soldier was stabbed twice in a hand/arm and in his back and is now listed in moderate-to-serious condition. He is being transported to the trauma unit of Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

14:13: Magen David Adom reports the soldier being in moderate condition.

15:20: The Foreign Press Association in Israel has already issued a statement condemning the attack and the terrorist wearing a vest marked “PRESS”, calling it a “violation of press privilege and call on local Palestinian media organizations to immediately verify all media credentials to ensure there are no violations”. It is added the attack marks a “worrisome development that demand all media operate with heightened caution in the West Bank and East Jerusalem”.

Some earlier terror briefs from today, Friday, 3 Cheshvan include:

• A police bomb-sniffing dog prevented a bomb attack against soldiers near an Issawiya checkpoint in the capital.
• A 13-year-old terrorist armed with a knife was apprehended at Shar Shechem.
• Cleared for release: 6 Israeli Arabs were arrested for their alleged involvement in firebomb attacks on Highway Six in the past weeks.

• 13:58: A bomb was just hurled at soldiers in the Hebron district. B”H no fatalities or injuries.

  1. The soldier that was stabbed by a terrorist (wearing a press uniform), the soldier was moderately injured. You wrote that it was a light injury.
