Temple Institute: PM Netanyahu’s Decision Discriminates Against Jews And Rewards Terror

hhaPrime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on motzei Shabbos parshas Lech Lecha released a message stating that he is preserving the status quo on Har Habayis and this means only Muslims may pray on the site, while others, including Jews, may visit.

In response to the announced policy decision, Rabbi Chaim RIchman, international director of the Temple Institute released the following message.

“The Prime Minister has rewarded Islamic terrorism by empowering and institutionalizing the discrimination of Jews on Har Habayis. Instead of stating unequivocally that the recent violence and murder of innocent Jews has nothing to do with peaceful Jewish prayer, the Prime Minister has bolstered false Islamist narrative by agreeing to place cameras monitoring Jewish visitors’ lips on Har Habayis and reaffirming that Jordan, and not Israel, is the sovereign ruler over Har Habayis, the heart of our people.”

  1. Richman is a fraud. Netanyau changed nothing. This has been the status quo and law on Israel all along. It had been the same policy before the State of Israel existed and ever since.

  2. to rephrase the message it says: “The Prime Minister has resisted pressure from right wing fundamentalists by decidedly defusing tensions on the Har Habayis. Instead of stating unequivocally that national pride needs to be asserted even at the cost of great Jewish bloodshed and an entire country fearing for their lives (not to mention problematic Halachic basis) and that decidedly inflammatory Jewish prayer at our nation’s holiest site is in fact merely peaceful Jewish prayer and justifies any incitement and Arab call-to-arms that it engenders, the Prime Minister has refuted the false nationalistic narrative by agreeing to place cameras monitoring Jewish visitors’ lips on Har Habayis and reaffirming that safety and Jewish blood, not petty considerations of sovereignty over Har Habayis ensures the continous beating of the heart of our people.”

  3. Richman still won’t take responsibility for having triggered the death of those Jews. His arrogance in going against the divre chachomim and assuming that he knows how to avoid Kares is an indication of his smallness rather than otherwise.

I hope he sleeps well at night while the families he caused to lose loved ones weep in the dark.

Even at the doors of Gehinnom the rasha doesn’t change…

  4. Rav Elyashiv, zt’l warned us that going on the Temple mount would incite the Arabs to enact terrorist attacks. There is absolutely no necessity to go onto the Temple mount at this time. Doing so is tantamount to being an accomplice to murder! In my opinion, all this idiots going onto the Temple mount are grossly Arrogant and Rotzchim! Their sins against Klal Yisrael are unforgivable!

  5. The Litvaks only go halfway. The Satmer Rebbe and most other Rebbes tell it like it is: Don’t even step into this Zionist Country.

  6. Even a US pro Israel law maker had it right. Itr is KNOWN FACT in Gemarah it says the Zealots Hastened the Destruction of the Temple and massacre of many thousands because of their ways of wanting to fight the Romans even as the Roman forces surrounded Jerusalem and had it under siege. The rabbis wanted Peace and the Zealots that were in forceful control did not want to allow it! All the hief Rabbis and Gedolim are very clear it is KAREIS to go on the Temple Mount! We are not yet in Post Messianic Times! We are still in Galus. No need to provoke the entire Moslem World! And Lets Not Cause the Murder and Terror of so many Jewish men, women and children! I myself often wondered in YW why these Nationalists dont try to visit teh Har HaZaysim where it is NOT KAREIS and is a STRATEGIC HILL SIDE LOCATION OVER LOOKING JERUSALEM and a vast ancient Jewish cemetary!

  7. Sorry Richman you are one big fraud we all know you can’t step for there and will incite the Arabs don’t think you are smarter than everybody else we don’t want you to first learn your lesson when you have a fatality in your immediate family be smart and think ahead and remember eizehu Chatham Harper estate hanolad

  8. What Netanyahu should have done was to please these reshaim and not allow anyone to even visit har habais and intern would be adhering to the gedolai yisrael’s psak that it is asur to even step foot on har habais. Thus saving innocent lives.

  9. so please explain it to me-when the Israeli Supreme Court says to demolish Jewish homes(on the flimsiest of legal grounds)or not to demolish arab terrorists’ homes they’re listened to BUT when they declare that the Temple Mount has to be open to all religions the court can be ignored even by the PM?

  10. Rabosai,
I am sure that R. Richman asked his posek regarding ascending to the permissible parts of Har Habayis. I am quite aware that the majority of poskei hador forbid ascending Har Habayis. Nevertheless, if one’s personal Rav allows it, shouldn’t we say “Eilu ve’eilu divrei Elokim Chaim?”

Please consider that falsely calling another yid a “fraud” may be a worse offense than ascending Har Habayis. That is definitely not what the Ribono shel HaOlam wants.

Regarding visiting Eretz Yisrael — chas ve’shalom to tell Jews not to. That is lashon ha’ra against Eretz Yisrael, which is a huge sin.

  11. #11 – you’re giving too much credit where it’s not due.

    1) I could not find even one Gadol’s name mentioned in favor of going onto the Har HaBayit. Chochomim, yes. Gedolim, no! ALL THE GEDOLIM ARE AGAINST GOING ONTO THE HAR HABIYIT AT THIS TIME! “Divrei HaRav…”

    2) When it’s absolutely clear that such actions have been the direct cause of terror attacks (see YWN -http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/headlines-breaking-stories/354328/indictment-handed-down-in-beersheva-central-bus-station-attack-case.html) then their opinions are void and nil. Please stop supporting Jews who do not fear the words of Gedolim!

  12. #5 – very surprising statement coming from such a wonderful man as yourself.

    Please consider the following.

Being that there are thousands of Satmer Hassidim living here in Israel as well as many many other chasidus, and being that Rav Yoel himself, ztk”l also visited E”Y, I think it would be correct to reevaluate your opinion on this topic. We must distinguish between Eretz HaKodesh and the Medina. It is not hinu hach and one should not forgo one for the other.

Also, do not fall into the trap and lies of Neturei Karta who “claim” to be followers of the Satmer Rav, ztk”l. They clearly are not and his views were not as radical as their’s are. His were the opinion of a Gadol b’Yisrael. Theirs are the opinion of someone whom the Chazon Ish called a “Zionist”. Yes, the Chazon Ish called Reb Amram a Zionist! Look it up.

  13. Just to correct my previous statement, the Chozen Ish told Rav Amram that he feared that he (the latter) had Zionist leanings do to his action over a movie theater that was opening on Shabbos. Long story.
