ISA Nabs Terror Cell Planning Suicide Bombing Attacks And Uncovers Explosives Lab


20151223021947The ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) on Wednesday 11 Teves announced that an investigation involving the IDF and Israel Police led to uncovering a major Hamas terror cell operating in Abu Dis, bordering the capital, affiliated with the Izzadin el-Kassam military wing of Hamas. The cell was planning bombing attack including suicide bombing attacks.

To date, 25 suspects have been taken into custody, most being student s at Abu Dis University and known to the ISA. The head of the cell is Jamal Moussa Azzam, 24, a resident of the PA (Palestinian Authority) in the Kalkilye area. He enlisted others and they worked to establish a terror base inside Israel to use to launch attacks against Israeli targets.

Ahmed Azzam was in contact with agents in Gaza, including an expert in making bomb belts and vests to be used by suicide bombers.

In addition, Azzam was renting an Abu Dis apartment, which was being used to manufacture explosives.
