Rabbonim affiliated with the Derech Emunah organization have come out publicly in support of Rabbi Eyal Karim, who was approved to serve as the next IDF Chief Rabbi. that appointment however was frozen by the justices of the High Court of Justice who want to compel Rabbi Karim to submit his position on a number of matters to the court for clarification and approval.

The rabbonim call on Rabbi Karim to stand firm and not comply with the court’s request, for there is no reason he should explain halachic matters to the secular court, even the highest secular court.

The rabbi is also backed by Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita and Minister of Religious Affairs (Shas) David Azoulai.
