Marine Park: Child Struck By Vehicle On Ave P And Ryder St Suffers Serious Injuries – Residents Demand Action From DOT

mpaA child waiting for his school bus was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle on Friday morning in the Marine Park section of Brooklyn.

Flatbush Hatzolah was called to the scene at Avenue P and Ryder Street at around 8:30AM after receiving multiple calls reporting a child struck by a vehicle.

The 9-year-old boy was standing on the sidewalk when two cars collided, with one of them ending up on the sidewalk – striking the child.

He was rushed to a local hospital by Hatzolah Paramedics where he reportedly has a skull fracture and a lacerated spleen. He is conscious and alert and being closely monitored.

Neighbors tell YWN that they have been complaining for a long time about the corner as being dangerous and having accidents weekly. Their complaints have gone unanswered, and now they have started an online petition calling on residents to demand that “all way stop signs” be installed on Avenue P intersections with Ryder Street and Kimball Street.

Please take a moment to say Tehillim for Yehuda Aryeh ben Sarah Bracha – and then take a moment to sign the petition if you are a local resident.
