The CIA lost track of Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks ever took place, and still has no good idea of where he is, the nations spy chief admitted yesterday.
In a rare assessment on the war on terror, CIA Director Leon Panetta conceded that the United States hasnt had good intelligence on bin Ladens location since 2000.
Its been very difficult to get any intelligence on his exact location, he said.
He is, as is obvious, in very deep hiding . . . Hes in an area of the tribal areas of Pakistan.
Its been a decade since officials had the last precise information about where [bin Laden] might be located, Panetta said.
