Israeli Vehicles Damaged In Multiple Rock-Throwing Incidents Near Halhul

Muslim Arabs attacked numerous Israeli vehicles on Tuesday afternoon in the area between Gush Etzion and Hebron on Highway 60. During one incident, Arabs pelted a car with stones near the Halhul overpass just north of Hebron. Moked 443 reported that there were no injuries in the incident although there was damage to the vehicle.

In a separate incident in the same area, an Egged bus was attacked. The bus which was traveling from Gush Etzion to Hebron was attacked by Arab on the main highway, this time on the length of road that leads from the Okafim junction to the outskirts of Halhul. In this incident as well there were no injuries reported. However, one of the paint cans that was thrown at the bus hit the windshield and caused severe damage to the vehicle. In spite of the attack, the driver did not lose control of the bus and continued safely onto Hebron.

Halhul has been a hotspot of Palestinian insurgency for a long time and was the city where the bodies of Eyal Yifrah, Naftali Frenkel and Gilad Sha’ar were found on June 30, 2014.
