Rishon LTzion HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shlomo Amar Shlita and Rabbi Yaakov Ariel Shlita are expected to be meeting with Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita in the coming days, Kikar Shabbat reports. In all likelihood, Rabbi Chaim Druckman Shlita will be present as well. Rav Druckman has been the impetus behind pushing for the deal by which Shas will support R Ariels candidacy in exchange for Bayit Yehudi supporting the reelection of R Amar.
There have been conflicting reports over recent days signaling Rav Ovadias support and opposition for the deal. It is expected the meeting is intended to ascertain the Gadol Hadors position on the proposed deal.
