Manhattan is considered mukaf chomos for shabbos – it is surrounded by halachic walls (except for the fact that the bridges are mevatel the mechitzas for shabbos and the issue of 600,000 people etc).
Wouldn’t that make it also mukaf chomos for Purim, meaning, that at least l’chumra, one should also keep Shushan Purim in Manhatten?

t has to be mukaf chomah from the time of Yehoshua.

My response is that the chomos of tumah don’t count as chomos for Purim.
In case someone thinks this makes sense, you drank too much too early.The city was founded too recently. The previous inhabitants had some small villages, but nothing big (in part since they thought it unwise to build large communities next to a coast that frequently gets hit by hurricanes).
this year they will be celebrating on the yom haknisa, st. patricks day which is earlier in the week.
In MANhattan only men can drink. If women want to drink they should change the name to WOMANhattan.

The משנה in מגילה says עירות are places with 10 “בטלנים” less is a village
