Today I was reading that there is a facebook group titled “Donald J. Trump 2nd Presidential Inauguration Ceremony”. Apparently there is a segment of the population that wants to have a parallel virtual inaugeration. This is getting crazier by the day.

I think Trump should have an inaugeration. It is like an inauguration in every respect, except that the inaugerant is no different after the inaugeration than before. It’s like something that helps delusional people calm down and finish their supper.

Biden’s pending pseudo-presidency is increasingly becoming discredited. Democrats know this, have acknowledged it and are extremely angry about it.

Sometimes it is hard for old people to admit that it is over, even when it is. Trump’s only real concern is that by making a fool of himself he will hurt the Republicans in the Georgia runoffs, and end up giving Biden a mandate to radically move the country to the left, and that most Republicans will blame Trump.

After Trump’s impeached presidency and his complete destruction of american presidential norms, Biden’s inauguration will be an event that will be celebrated the world over.

Only Trump and his band of thieves were discredited. 1 Win and Over 50 losses and counting – including the Supreme Court. Everything that they have accused the democrat’s of has been discredited.
There has not been a single piece of evidence of fraud in favor of Biden that has any credibility.
There never was a massive fraud and not even a tiny one.

All American’s see that Trump lost in a landslide both in the popular and electoral college votes.

The democrats are only angry at Trump’s arrogant destruction of democracy in America.
To pull all the shtick that he has pulled since losing the election and still have the support of republican senators , representatives, and the party is tragic. It destroys the fabric of our country.
The ideas that were discussed and planned (and still might happen) – that Trump impose martial law or seize voting machines or use the congress to steal the election – shake the foundations of our democratic freedoms.

This is all a contradiction to the mishna
רבי חנינא סגן הכהנים אומר, הוי מתפלל בשלומה של מלכות, שאלמלא מוראה, איש את רעהו חיים בלעו.

To akuperma: Do you really think Trump has real concerns? Well, maybe he has real concerns, but no reality-based concerns.

“Biden’s pending pseudo-presidency is increasingly becoming discredited.”

Actually it isn’t, but you are permitted to remain in your alternate reality.

Trump is increasingly delusional. It could be because his father told him to always be a winner and now he is a loser or he knows he faces criminal and civil trials once he loses the immunity the office of President gives him.
Although a little late it’s now 25th Amendment time.

If tbe malchus does not cause peace, contradicting the mishna above, we have to get rid of that malchus.

@Reb E: If tbe malchus does not cause peace,

This is not how I understood this Mishnah. Mishnah is not saying that Mlachut has a positive value. It just states that any legitimate power is better than anarchy. It calls for acceptance of the power.

Your interpretation calls for a revolution against any power you are not happy with. Rabbi Shimon seems to be on your side (Romans built roads and bathhouses for their own benefit). Are there specific commentaries on this Mishnah?

I think we here in US still pass this low bar. You can even argue that communist China is less murderous now as a mature power than it was when it was fighting internal enemies.

I can care less about politics for the most part, but how is this any crazier then the masses of Americans in the streets that were declaring “Trump is NOT my president” after Trump was inaugurated his 1st term?

What do you mean “old people having a hard time admitting it’s over”? Did you totally forget this is the same way the “youth” behaved in 2016 after Trumps inauguration? Also, the electoral college hasn’t decided yet.

It’s not an age issue. It’s an issue of people believing “their” political figure is the hidden messiah that is going to save them from all their life troubles. And this issue is alive in both party’s followers.
