SEE THE FOOTAGE: Large Crowd Dances At Hakafos Shniyos In Tehran

Iranian Jews danced with enthusiasm at Hakafos Shniyos in Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic.

The hakafos took place at the Yosef Abad shul in Tehran.

During the dancing, the mispallelim carried the Rav of Tehran, HaRav Yehuda Gerami, on their shoulders to the tune of “מי שמאמין לא מפחד.”

  1. Can someone help me understand when was this? Don’t they have two days yom tov. Do they do it on the third night?
Also, when you write huge crowd, can you please put it in in perspective how many Jews live in Tehran how many are religious do they have yeshivos etc?
Also, you can see some of the woman without head covering. Is it legal in Iran?

  2. If it’s Yom Tov, how can you record? And recorded music (OK, that was probably added later). Which is American wedding music. Sefardim have plenty of their own music.

And how can you take out sifrei Torah for a side show (applies to yeshivish hakafot shniyot in Yerushalayim, too )
