Israel Withdraws From Seven UN Agencies Over Bias Claims

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced Israel is withdrawing from seven United Nations agencies, effective immediately, citing anti-Israel bias and ineffective UN bureaucracy.

* The agencies include UN Women, the UN office for Children and Armed Conflict, the UN Conference on Trade and Development, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, the UN Alliance of Civilizations, UN Energy, and the Global Forum on Migration and Development.

* The Foreign Ministry said the decision followed the IDF being placed on a UN blacklist and what it described as virulently anti-Israel reporting by several UN bodies.
