Iran Offers Partial Hormuz Reopening, Nuclear Talks in Response to U.S. Proposal

Iran has formally responded to the latest U.S. proposal to end the war, proposing a gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial traffic in exchange for the U.S. lifting its blockade on Iranian ships and ports.

Tehran is also proposing 30 days of negotiations over its nuclear program, including diluting part of its highly enriched uranium stockpile and transferring the rest to a third country. Iran reportedly rejected dismantling its nuclear facilities and is seeking guarantees that transferred uranium would be returned if talks collapse or if the U.S. exits the agreement.
