CENTCOM: U.S. Intercepts Iranian Missiles, Drones; Strikes Radar Sites

In a Friday night statement, CENTCOM said U.S. forces intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf neighbors on June 5.

• CENTCOM said it shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones that were launched toward the Strait of Hormuz and posed an immediate threat to regional maritime traffic.

• CENTCOM said Iran later fired seven ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain. Initial assessments indicate six were intercepted and a seventh failed to reach its intended target.

• U.S. forces subsequently struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in Goruk and on Qeshm Island. CENTCOM said there were no reports of harm to U.S. personnel and denied Iranian claims that the U.S. 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain was damaged.
