A potentially tragic fire in Modi’in Illit ended without injuries after a young girl awoke to smoke filling her family’s apartment and quickly alerted the rest of the household, allowing everyone to escape safely.

The blaze broke out inside the family’s apartment during the night. After noticing the smoke, the daughter immediately woke her family members, who evacuated the apartment before the fire could spread further.

According to preliminary findings, the fire appears to have been caused by candles that had been left burning on top of a refrigerator. Fire officials are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Thanks to the daughter’s vigilance and swift response, all members of the family were able to exit the apartment unharmed.
