Channel 14 commentator and radio host Arel Segal sharply criticized National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Sunday, accusing him of harming Israel with inflammatory social media posts during wartime.

Speaking on his 103FM radio program, Segal took aim at a post Ben Gvir published Friday following the deaths of four IDF soldiers in southern Lebanon.

“His need to explode on Twitter is foolish. He’s endangering Israel,” Segal said. “I don’t understand when he’s going to grow up—you need to grow up! The same goes for Yair Golan. The war isn’t over. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Be patient. You’re ministers in the State of Israel.”

Ben Gvir’s post called for a far more aggressive military response against Lebanon.

“With all due respect to the Americans, Israel must make it clear to the entire world that the blood of our sons and the security of our citizens are not hefker,” Ben Gvir wrote. “All of Lebanon should burn. Our supreme obligation is to protect Israel’s citizens and IDF soldiers, and that obligation comes before every other consideration.”

He also said, “I tell the Prime Minister, even in our private meetings: For every tear shed by an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry.”

Ben Gvir concluded by calling for overwhelming force against Hezbollah, writing: “Enough with the ping-pong. In the Middle East, you don’t win with measured responses and restraint. You have to go crazy. Wipe them out. Defeat the terror.”

The post reportedly garnered more than 18 million views and drew widespread international attention, including a response from Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who condemned Ben Gvir’s remarks and accused Israel’s government of promoting perpetual war.
