Colombia Election: Abelardo de la Espriella Wins Presidency in Narrow Runoff Victory Over Iván Cepeda


With more than 98% of ballots counted, Abelardo de la Espriella has won Colombia’s presidential runoff, narrowly defeating Iván Cepeda by a vote of 49.77% to 48.59%.

Cepeda was backed by outgoing President Gustavo Petro, while de la Espriella received the endorsement of President Trump.
