There will be a pilot project conducted in the NYC community board 12 area this year forBiur Chometz this coming Monday ending by 11:44AM. With the cooperation of the Dept. of Sanitation, there will be 55 gallon drums placed strategically in 28 locations throughout the Boro Park area which will be used for Biur Chometz. All sites will need to be supervised by an adult. These drums will be barricaded off by police barriers. Both the NYPD &the FDNY will monitor the sites to make sure the fires do not get out off control.
By containing the fires this way, it will greatly alleviate the chance of out of control fires which can do great damage to property as well as severe burns. It should be noted that anyone who is seen using any type of accelerant to light any fires, will be arrested.
This pilot project is the first step to control the fires in this district as well as insures the safety of loved ones during this holiday.
If this project succeeds, NYC will be looking forward to expanding this for next year.
