…are you doing all you can to make the “broken stuff” into something lucky?
From my little life on this planet thus far,I’ve noticed that the lucky breaks come faster when you’re not OVER-TRYING to make it happen.Kind of like the “watched pot never boils” theory.

To some extent we make our own luck but then again Hash-m also runs the world. For example: You cant sit at home and then complain that you are broke, at the same time, you wont necessarily become a millionaire.
If the next 40+ years ago as smooth and the past ones, I’ll be thrilled.
I have pretty realistic expectaions from life, so I’m pretty happy as things are now.

Each of us has to do his hishtadlus as far as parnassa,
– then… you daven, learn, be the best Yid you can be, and leave things up to HaSh-m, who is always maiteev, though we don’t always realize it.
Also… buy a lotto ticket every once in a while, to give HaSh-m a way to give you that “lucky break” -should He want to, b’derech ha”teva”, as opposed to a naiys nigla, – which not many of us would be zoche to.

Translation: Whoever tries to push his luck (lit. hour), his luck will push him. Whoever accepts his fate, fate will stand him well.
I know that the whole issue of Mazal is confusing to some/many, and unliked by even more. It is something that has to be properly understood, with its appropriate context. Rashi explains this Gemara that when you notice that times aren’t good you shouldn’t press it. Don’t keep on investing more and more.
Of course, it doesn’t mean that you should give up. Also, how do you know when your Mazal switched? However, I think that the OP had a good understanding of how to apply this, being that it was a personal observation.
I think the OP was about how to behave more than what to believe, so we’ll try not to discuss Bitachon & Hishtadlus (as much as there is to discuss).
