What’s the thing of a baby not looking in a mirror, is it a true thing or just made up?
The Be’er Moshe (8:36) says it is a valid minahag.
He also says red string and not stepping over someone is valid.

He calls these minhagim “old wive’s tales”. He hardly refer’s to them as valid. They are minhagim that’s it.

not quite. he says you can’t make fun of it. I think what it boils down to is ‘Who knows?’ rather than saying that it is valid.

He didn’t say it was an invalid minhag not to.
I had an uncle who was very particular about this matter. He also gave us all “roiter bindlech,” which I keep with me at all times. He also gave me a Raziel Hamalach, which I keep in my teffilin bag. I don’t much go for these segulot, but he did, and I loved him very much. I keep these momentos as a matter of respect for him and to preserve his memory.

Not if I don’t regret it. And there are plenty of things that I do/have done that I do not truly regret.

I think he means that you only need one reason to go to gehinnom. For some reason, he’s not taking into account the level of punishment.
The reason you don’t truly regret it is because you don’t truly believe it’s wrong (which, in this case, you’re probably right about).

The thing with babies and mirrors is that most people have NO idea why it is a minhag. What was the source for the Bubbeh Maiseh (which it totally is, but that does not make it a bad thing – our Bubbies were very wise). We do a lot of things that are Bubbeh Maisehs. But we do them, nonetheless, maybe on the chance that they are right. To me however, if Hashem didn’t say it shouldn’t be done, it probably is safe if we did, so stop worrying about gehennom.

I didn’t say that I don’t believe I did anything wrong. I said I don’t regret what I’ve done wrong. It’s a huge difference.
Example: I’ve been told that I am a moser because I called the cops when a neighbor’s car went off at 2AM and wouldn’t shut off for two hours. (No, I don’t know whose car it was… so I couldn’t just go tell the neighbor — and yes, given where I live, the overwhelming odds were that it was a Jew’s car.) Yes, halacha says I should have gone to a bais din before calling the cops (since I wasn’t in any physical danger), but I chose not to wake rabbonim at 4AM. As such, I am a moser. Nonetheless, I don’t regret the fact that I’ve called the cops.

What is the baby suppose to do if they want to press down their eyebrows and check their teeth from side to side?
If the baby looked, what do you do? Are you supposed to make the mirror look back at the baby?
