There are Gemaros that assume that Mashiach has to come by the year 6000. There seem to be Gemaros that don’t assume that. There are Gemaros that give earlier deadlines than the year 6000 that have already passed. We just need to wait for him whenever it comes and hope that it’s as soon as possible.
