With all due respect, I do not want to see Hashem’s opinion on the matter. You are a perfect example of part of what i’m talking about; If someone says or does something in Flatbush that is even a mah shehu out of the mainstream or controversial or gutsy or even just plain silly (like the original post of this thread was), invariably it will ruffle someone’s feathers in our crazy…yes crazy…community. Perhaps part of it’s a reflection of what’s going on in the rest of the country, with the liberal press and the Thought Police destroying folks they disagree with, but a lot of the attitude trickles down from some of the more extreme right wing rabbonim who, though their hearts may be in the right place (personally mine is right near my left kidney) give some (not all) people the impression that they must toe the line to qualify as a “Good Jew.” That works for some people, but can be quite annoying to others. Unfortunately, it can sometimes also turn people off to Yiddishkeit entirely.
