I once heard a beautiful explanation for tzniut – you conceal something precious, but it can be revealed when appropriate. If something is disgusting, you hide it at all times. If we taught our wives and daughters that tznius is an expression of their value and self-worth, rather than to cover something which has negative powers, don’t you think that would enhance the value of tznius in their eyes?>
