As far as those people who claim they saw something that proves their religion, They did a survey and found that people who had OBEs and NDEs did not switch religions. They just became more religious in whatever religion they were born into.

There are different levels of OBEs, but one thing all these researchers on astral projection is that

If you are in a bad mood, you will have a scary experience. If you’re in a good mood, it will be a happy one. If you see something scary, think of something pleasant, it will go away. If you believe in demons, there may be demons.

Bottom line, although the frame is real, your mind does create things. Its sort of like Inception.

At least that’s the way I understand it.
