Glue traps are probably the least humane (well, cats are probably worse). Snap traps kill them pretty quickly, but they don’t work that often and there’s a high “ick factor.” The trap I recommended electrocutes them, which presumably is relatively quick. You can close your eyes, turn the trap upside down, open the door, and dump them in the garbage without even looking at the dead mouse. I don’t recommend flushing them — snaking a dead mouse out of clogged toilet is too gross to contemplate.
