Another related point is the parnasa crisis – the father-in-laws of yesterday are no longer. The sons-in-law of yesterday who sat and learned and were supported by their parents/in-laws are now parents of kids in shiduchim and don’t have money to support. The money has to come from somewhere and it isn’t coming from Obama.
