I’m far from being a Gadol (actually my name itself suggests so!), I know pesukim (even obsecure ones too).
The reason why we don’t spend so much time on them is plain, we’re occupying ourselves with the Torah shebeal peh, the portion luckily not plundered, plagiarized by the goyim. They have nothing more to fool themselves, with so they suffice with their pithy understanding of their “verses”. We however derive our understandings based on our tradidition, our Torah greats, our oral Torah. We glean the meaning of Tanach (all of it) from the pages of Gemarah, medrashim etc.
Indeed, correct me if I’m wrong, I think it’s called bitul Torah to involve oneself with Neviim and Kesuvim instead of Gemarah.
