Real flowers – when put together well – can be breathtaking. I personally grew up that flowers are a part of Shabbos and Yom Tov. Table looks empty without them (even when set well). Flowers smell heavenly too (depends which one) and brighten a room (cant argue with that)
You can buy a real bouquet:
1. L’kovod Shabbos and Yom Tov
2. When you think of someone (re: wife)
Now you can say same for chocolates and CD’s. But Hashem created flowers and something sentimental about them.
Naturally, women are closer to Hashem and his world. Therefore, a woman enjoys nature (so there you go about flowers).
Usually a person will purchase flowers when they are thinking of someone and want to show it – that’s what a woman wants from her husband.
A book, CD or chocolates – given a gift – will show that you wanted to buy a gift, not necessarily ‘thinking’.
Ever heard of the expression “It’s the thought that counts?”
Well, that role plays a very big part when it comes to women.
