Secularazation had nothing to do with Zionism, it started in Europe with the Englightenment and the Haskallah , which was the jewish englishtenment in the early 1800’s
Zionism wasnt really a realistic option on the map until the 1890 with Hertzel. The Haskallah occured long before that
