PAA: Everyone learns in their homes. I can’t prove it, but I have long thought that you cannot give your own house a Din of a Beis Medrash. It’s a house; you live there. I have also thought that you cannot apply this Rama/Gemara of Makom D’Garsi to one’s own house, though I can’t prove that either. But Libi Omer Li that it has to be a place where the Ikkar Kavua is learning, not living.
