Sam, I was surprised to see your conversational comment labeled as sharp. Perhaps the ellipsis sounded sarcastic.
The OP described putting the patient into a state where they won’t ask for food or drink. This is not any less than Bidka Demaya, where he ties a person and places him in the path of water that will eventually drown him. This has nothing to do with allowing a person to die naturally. I don’t think you understood the OP the same way I did, because I can’t imagine that you disagree with this.
