The sensor issue should be okay b’dieved. The question here is, can you use a mechanical key as an alternative? If not, it’s a problem, unless there’s a non Jewish doorman (although even then, it’s still not so poshut). Otherwise, you have to wait for a non Jew to walk through and follow him.
