Speaking of blood, I have given blood probably 30 times in my life. So I’m not afraid of needles. My most recent experience happened in NY Blood Center. The nurse/phlebotomist stuck in the needle and while doing the last parts of the setup she bumped into the “scale thing” that holds the bag. Since the tube was not yet taped to my arm or the chair arm, the needle came out! Out of the corner of my eye I could see that blood was coming out at a decent rate (I wouldn’t dare look at it out of fear of fainting etc.). They cleaned me up quickly and offered to let me go or try again. I opted to try again. Try #2 went well BH. They were very apologetic.
