As a non-avian dinosaur, I believe that science should state that primitive birds descended from dinosaurs, not that all dinosaurs are birds. Also, while scientifically the word refers to a specific group of animals, the word is also used to refer to pterosaurs, plesiosaurs, monitor lizards, other large lizards, or anything old.
