Is s/he an old poster? Sure sounds like it….I can understand everyone if it’s just an oldie playing a joke.
If s/he isn’t, I know it’s annoying, but I still think that the way people told him/her quite bluntly to leave was pretty mean. There’s a way to tell someone that you find their behavior irritating without saying it outright.
