I once heard Rabbi Drillman Shlit”a say that Rav Hutner used to say about himself, The Alter built the ershte plotz (bottom floor) and Rav Kook built the tzveite plotz (top floor). Doesn’t sound like a repudiation. He didnt’ say hallel on yom ha’atzma’ut, but he was no NKnik. More like non-zionist than anti-zionist.
