Think first -“I’ve been pulled over and showed the cop my sherrifs “PBA” card, which I got because they sent me a letter saying, “send us twenty bucks and we’ll send u a card (I sent them 20 bucks once and get a updated card every year for a few years now) and he said,” alright, I won’t give u a ticket, just slow down”
This has nothing to do with the PBA card. Some cops are just nice. If you’d apologize and act innocent they wouldn’t give you a ticket either. I’ve been pulled over many times and I hardly ever got a ticket.
I’ve been in locker rooms with cops and this is one of the topics they talk about. One cop said -“I take the PBA card and rip it up and shove it somewhere (I’ll leave out his exact word) and then give him a ticket.
So a PBA card means nothing to most cops. And if they haven’t done their quota -you definitely are getting a ticket.
What does work is saying when he approaches the car and says “Do you know you were doing 75 in a 55 mile zone?” You answer -“No, I didn’t. I’m so sorry. I never speed -I just didn’t realize how fast I was going. I haven’t got a ticket in umpteen years. (however years was the last one) Or say “I’ve only gotten one ticket in 20 years of driving.” Then add -“I’m always a very careful driver”. Just don’t lie about when the last time you got a ticket. This is more likely to get you a “warning” than any PBA card.
