Note the Jewish communities run schools and libraries, and provide welfare services including emergency health service – all more effectively and cheaply than the government. Even without de jure autonomy (something we never had in America and lost in Europe of 200 years ago), the governance of our community is functional, and cost efficient relative to the the federal, state and city governments.
