I did not say yeshivos spend twice as much as the goyim’s schools. I said the teach twice as many subjects. The number of subjects is a function of teaching a classical curriculum (Torah) and a modern scientific curriculum. When the goyim switched to a modern curriculum, they abandonned their “classical” curriculum, with the result that most goyim are secular ignoramouses about their own culture (with poor language skills, horrible work discipline, and poor midos). Given that most frum Jews are relatively poor, there is no way we could match the goyim’s financially. Given our educational goals, and lack of financially resources, we are doing quite well.
