I work as a computer programmer, and I can tell you that someone who is only in this for the paycheck is not going to last, and in things like Law or Medicine that is even more so. This job requires hard work and some late nights, and many other jobs even more so. Someone who wants to be a lawyer (for example) but does not love it is going to burn out very fast.
