its very painful to someone to watch all this tzaros when he knows it could have all been avoided if klal yisroel would JUST START doing teshuva as a nation (hashem doesn’t expect us to fully repent overnight, but just wants to see a start of teshuva so that the tzaros in klal yisroel can come to an end finally)
