The basic idea is that anytime you have more than one space between letters (or any other non-space such as numbers or symbols) you have to use a code to get it to show up, otherwise it will show up as one space.
For instance,
Good Shabbos (typed one space between “Good” and “Shabbos”)
Good Shabbos (typed five spaces between “Good” and “Shabbos”)
Good Shabbos (typed “ ” between “Good” and “Shabbos”)
The way I did it with the donut was that I copied the post into notepad and did chose “Edit->Replace” (CTRL-H) from the menu and replaced all ” ” with “ “
By the way, I made the &nbps;‘s show up as written instead of as spaces in this post by putting tick marks around them.
