benignuman: My point is that the hetter used by Rav Goren was not unusual. As a matter of fact, the same reason was used in recent years to invalidate a geirus by Rabbi Sherman. Whether you agree with one or the other side, it cannot be that ,when used by a chareidi Rov (Rav Sherman), it is a good hetter but when used by a dati leumei Rov (Rav Goren) it is not. This was my point about politics.
