Incorrect. While that was once true, they currently alternate between male and female names. For example, the first several names for hurricanes in 2017 (if they form) will be

Arlene Bret Cindy Don Emily Franklin Gert Harvey

They even alternate the first name from year to year. The first name in 2018 will be male (Alberto)
